Kali-eyed among aphids
That morning a lot of fleeting thoughts
fleeted, cascaded from blocked gutters.
Memories flickered through many prisms
in the Kali-eyed scope; sometimes angry
wild wild birds, skulls, seas of black hair
and tawny, bald heads, glossy teeth all
interspersed with wondering, pondering,
inconclusively it may have been said.
Unanswered questions were not a problem,
mastodons, angels, aphids and gherkins were.
A moon grinned, a turtle wept salt tears,
pumas slouched through shadows of ferns.
Fleeting images fleeted on quixotically,
tumbled and cascaded until after afternoon.
