A Writer's Sleeplessness

As I drift to sleep
my mind wanders
and the prose ebbs
into the darkness
like a ballerina
sashaying
onto the stage.

The words dance,
pirouette,
sissonne,
fouette,
in my mind
until I am awakened
by their presence
and compelled
to amass them
due to their sheer force and
strength.

(c) 2006 Christine Cristiano

Oh, I am sure any poet can relate to your words here.
Well stated! I always enjoy poetry that speaks of what
a poet lives and breathes along the way.

Wow, I really liked the way you turned the poems words into a form of ballet. And indeed they did dance across my screen. A very enjoyable poem and thank you for reading ??In the doorway? I will post a new one just for you ??Thoughts of the Poet.?
