$100 Creative Non Fiction Submission Guidelines
$100 Creative Non-Fiction Competition
Theme: City Smells / Word Count: max 2000
Submissions for Edit Red's creative non-fiction competition with a $100 cash prize are now open.
This competition is open to all EditRed members. No entry or membership fee required, but you do need to be a member as submissions are part automated. Follow the guidelines EXACTLY please. Any submissions that are not sent as requested will not be read.
SUBMISSION DEADLINE June 15th 2007.
To make a submission, the editors Chris Lee Ramsden, Sean Merrigan and Alan Emmins urge you to follow the guidelines below. Failure to comply with the guidelines WILL mean your story will not get read.
1. Upload your Previously UNPUBLISHED creative non-fiction (Theme: City Smells). You have to upload your submission into your Edit Red reading room. Set the access status to public. (For those of you who aren't already members of Edit Red, sign up takes 2 minutes, uploading your writing takes 2 minutes.)
2. Send the URL of your uploaded creative non-fiction. You should paste the URL of your creative non-fiction into an email and send it to this competition profile, see the 'E-mail this user' link just above this bio. Once you have uploaded your creative non-fiction entry, click the 'Click here to view your upload.' link at the top of the page and then copy the url as shown in the illustration below.

3. You can only submit 1 piece of creative non-fiction. It must be previously unpublished piece of work.
Don't be bashful. Chris, Sean and Alan are chomping at the bit to get at your creative non-fiction. And don't forget, the more excellent the better'¦

I'm confused about how to submit my work in these contests. I know you laid it out right above, so its probably a lack in my understanding not your explanation. However, this is how I have interpreted your directions.
1. I have to upload the creative nonfiction piece into my edite red reading room (I have no idea what that is but I'm sure I can figure it out).
2. Then I have to paste a URL in my piece that I uploaded or email it to this reader (this is where I'm confused).
what is this URL thing? are you talking about the ones that Editred provides to put in our other web spaces? My unpublished work has no URL's; the only place online that I publish anymore is editred so I'm a little confused on that part... and where to find the reading room...
