It's what I Do..



The word

my passion

keepin it tight

my theme

the expression supreme

from the first to the last sylable

the verbs must transverse

while we converse

about this or that

No room for mistakes

for the flow is at stake

as I spit my words to the crowd

holding them tight

in my line of sight

can't let them loose

the faith that it takes

to brave the cold and the dark of the night

they've come to see me

explode in lyrics

the likes which they've never seen

and the sweat of my palms

the shake of my knees

the confussion in me

makes me want to scream

gotta shake it off

the voice must not waver

dear God please

do me this favor

let me come thru

as if the words were from you

after all you are the creator

give me the words lawd

they're lookin at me

with that look that can not be mistaken

the look that tells me

without a doubt

they want to be shocked and shaken

As I stand there and speak

although I am one

with my terror

do they feel my truth?

see me as creative?

are they confussed?

or are they astute

and perfectly attuned to my flavor?

that I do not know

I just spit out my flow

as I feel the vibe get contagious

the feeling amounts

the crowd never calms down

as I put down the mic

and step off the stage feeling outrageous!
