***I'm trying my hand at writing a bi-focal poem. Unfortunately, the italics don't show to distinguish different speakers.

Beloved,
Edward:

Bonds us together,
Threatens our unity.

Maintains our memories
Faint memories

Sustains our affections;
are all I have.

Value my actions,
a "thinking of you"

Because words beguile.
is all I need.

I absolutely love this beacause it really does reflect the differences in thoughts of a couple. It makes the saying "opposites attract" come to life.

Interesting effect. I try to imagine male and female voices. Then I need to read each part by itself, then together again. Challenging.
