9 - Summery Rain Upon My Face

Register (Committed)

I feel comforted, by the soft summery rain upon my face
During check in, I experience the wetness
The water is thick sweet brown molasses
Dripping from the ceiling
Tongue catching delicious grainy droplets
Rolling down my body in thick chunks and onto the floor

I lay as an infantile, panting, chest heaving
Head swelling and mind throbbing
At the feet of helpful little bellhops all dressed in white
Powerless and calm

Consciousness suspended

Stay (Confined and Restrained)

Yes, this is my Ritz Carlton
The service is amazing
The most attractive concierge wears a bright white shirt and black shoes
Well padded rooms with very bright lights
Complementary Haldol and Thorazine dispensed by the quart

I must say, my stay is better than attending a rare showing of
La Muette de Portici at the the Theatre de la Monnaie
Watching the Belgians thrash the French
And then eating a sumptuous seven course meal
Consisting of all my favorites

Gorgonzola Polenta
lemon-basil & sun-dried tomato butter sauce
La Ina Dry Sherry

Wild Mushroom Soup
rosemary, merlot, cream, crostini
Viogner, Mc Dowell

Northwest Wild Greens
green apples, goat cheese and raspberry vinaigrette
Chardonnay, Chateau Ste. Michelle

Lemon Sorbet
with fresh mint

Chicken Amore
almond crusted with blueberries, peaches, & Grand Marinier
Conundum, Caymus

Salmon de Provence
horseradish crust, orange beurre blanc
Pinot Noir, Rex Hill

Macadamia Cups
passion fruit cream and fresh berries
Late Harvest Sauvignon Blanc, Kiona

Effect (Results)

A sensational feeling of weightlessness
Cochlea responsibility restored
Organ of Corti respective of other voices
No trembling walls
The disappearance of little pink people
Who are always bossing me a round?
As if, I am their servant
I do the hiring around here
No panicking or running around in haste
Reconfigured nerve endings of the frontal lobe
Resulting in gymnast like balance while sitting in my high chair

Checkout (Discharge)

Now, that was a great vacation!

'I can see clearly now, the rain is gone,
I can see all obstacles in my way
Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind
It's gonna be a bright , bright
Sun-Shiny day.

It's gonna be a bright, bright
Sun-Shiny day''

ynnhoj hsan si llews, don't you think?

Note:
La muette de Portici (The mute girl of Portici) also known as Masaniello is an opera in five acts by Daniel Auber, with a libretto by Eugene Scribe and German Delavigne.
It received its first performance at the Paris Opera on 29 February 1828. Once extremely popular, it is now rarely performed.
According to tradition, it was the performance of this opera at the Theatre de la Monnaie, Brussels on the 25 August 1830, which caused a riot that became the signal for the "Belgian Revolution' which led to Belgian independence.

This was so moving. You're description of the rain and the Ritz were tangible. I felt enraptured, ensnared. It was magnificent. Thank you for letting me read.

Wow. Good capture of a mind in the midst of those circumstances, including being JUST well enough for discharge. Johnny Nash indeed.
