Last night as I lay dreaming
An image came to me
Of you and I together
T'was a winsome memory.

My minds eye saw us laughing
And discussing things we shared
I never planned on loving you
Deep inside I knew I cared.

My mind recalls you saying
That soon you had to leave
Inside, my soul was weeping
And soon, my heart would grieve.

My mind's eye sees you leaving
Walking away from me, that day
I stand alone and crying
As your image fades away.
