Two Sides of Being Single

Welcome to the training ground,
Full of excitement

Say hello to the abyss,
The loneliest time of your life

Here you can learn how to appreciate your friends

Here you will get the sense of something "missing"

Rise to greet the multitude of opportunities
To help those in need and
Guide them to the Light

Face that man in the mirror
With the realization that perhaps
Only half a man is staring back

Learn how to stand outside in the rain
Using love as an umbrella
To cover the whole
Of humanity

Acknowledge what's necessary to outstretch under the faucet
Your devotion as a cup
To offer it solely the one
Of your dreams

Running into God's loving arms is just a prayer away

Stepping through the minefield of doubts is just one wrong step under your foot

Commitment is a luxury,
Something to get used to

You can only be by yourself
For so long...

Welcome to the delight,

Loneliness,

Preparation,

Confusion,

Content-ness of "the present,"

Desire for "the future,"

Of being single.

I couldn't quite figure out what this was trying to say. It was either, 'you need god in your life' or 'everybody is alone sometimes' or something along those lines, or both. I liked it though, i really did.

Dig deeper in what? Want more of what? Such vague comments. The poem is very nice. You don't need more "polishing," maybe just some editing. I'm not a spiritualist, but this poem almost makes me want to be one. I think it gets a little didactic at times, but it's nice.

I don't find anything wrong with it. It has a nice message and tone, and is overall ok.

I think it needs fine tuning. This looks like an idea(a nice one) which needs polishing.

I think you could have dug deeper with this. It seems as if you started to and then for some reason, didn't. I guess I say that because I do like what you have here...I just want more. What about bad first dates? Blind dates? I'm sure most of us have been through nightmare scenarios...anyway, that's all.
