Yo no se / I Don't Know
Yo estoy aqui
Translation:
Here I am
In a city of Puerto Ricans with out a coqui
Livin' in this world
I find my happiness in a bag
I don't wanna live this life
My life really bothers me
It's difficult to live a life of contradiction
I believe that I am a demon

| I've read this before, and while some of its beauty may be lost in translation... I still find it relevant and powerful with a palpable hard-hitting "presence" similar to the life of a street person (not a vagrant), the type of person whose existence is a hard life, and he must be a demon in order to survive. Makes me feel the hard-hitting edge of the streets, although I don't know if that is what is meant to be expressed. |

questions and suggestions para usted..does the coqui relate to without a penny? as the old monetary possessions?
este vida mia me molesta = esta existencia me molesta = this existence of mine weighs on me...or too heavy, torturing?
"Para creer que yo soy demonio", to create a necessary universal point about the immigrant community and individual despair.

Well, the first thing I had to do was look up coqui: according to dictionary.com - Coqui], PR (comunidad, FIPS 20310) Location: 17.98055 N, 66.22643 W Population (1990): 3051 (1133 housing units)Area: 2.5 sq km version).(land), 0.0 sq km (water).
That being said, I guess you've written something down (I feel the same of both the Spanish and English
I think you should search a thesaurus for another synonym to the word "Vida" I find the usage, a bit repetitive--in such a short piece. |

| This poem speaks to me because it makes one think about how hard and confusing life can be and taps into those feelings. I like this poem very much. I'm not a poet, therefore I do not have any suggestions on changing anything. |
