Summer Fun ©

Summer is the time of year,
when we enjoy the sun.
Summer holidays, trips away,
enjoying lots of fun.

Beaches, sand and water sports,
ice cream cones as well.
Oh! How I really love the sun.
It's warmth is really swell.

Apples hanging from the trees,
flowers all in bloom.
Lots and lots of honey bees,
humming their sweet tune.

Skies are blue, the sun shines bright,
the days feel longer too.
Oh! I really love the sun.
When it comes shining through

Hi Anne,
This would make a cute children's book!

Hey Anne, how's tricks? Great last stanza here, very uplifting and joyous. Not too sure about "It's warmth is really swell." I know a lot of your writing is aimed at children, but does anyone say 'swell' nowadays? :-) Also "it's" means it is, should be "its" without the apostrophe for the possessive use of the word. All the best, Colin.

Simple and to the point, but it definitely has an undeniable charm about it. I also love the imagery you create in your writing.
