Breathe
I tried to call you
On the phone.
Thought there was
Nobody home.
But things weren't what they seemed.
Used the key,
Opened the door.
Dragged my feet,
Across the floor.
Felt like something that I dreamed.
Why won't you breathe?
Why won't you breathe?
Why can't you see?
Why won't you open up for me?
Checked the bathroom,
Checked the stairs.
There was something
In the air.
I just did not dare believe.
And as I opened up
The door.
I saw smokes piled
On the floor.
Yet I still could not conceive.
Why won't you breathe?
Why won't you breathe?
Why can't you see?
Why won't you open up for me?
I laid my head upon
Your breast.
No air flowing from,
Your chest.
And that was when I scre-amed.
BREATHE!
Why won't you breathe?
Why won't you breathe?
Why did you
Walk away from me?
And I said,
BREATHE!
Why won't you breathe?
Why won't you breathe?
What were the signs
I did not see?
And I don't get to
Ask you why.
Why you felt
You had to die.
Why this is how it had to b-e.
And I will never
Hold you close.
The one I'll always
Love the most.
But I guess it set you fre-e.
So you won't breathe.
No you won't breathe.
You'll never breathe
I don't know why you died.
And you won't breathe.
No you won't breathe.
You'll never breathe.
Because, you chose suicide.
And I never said goodbye.

Thanks for pointing that out. It didn't seem right when I looked at it, but I couldn't figure out the problem. When spell check didn't catch it, I figured I was wrong.
I appreciate the kind words. |

| This is very good. It's very emotional and you can sense real anxiety in the tone towards the beginning, as it fades into dissapointment and loss at the end. One thing though : Shouldn't breath be breathe? Breathe is the verb form of breath, which is a noun. Good job though. Thanks for the read :) |
