Unfulfilled

Unfulfilled
Echoing emptiness ricochet through fleshy shell
Bouncing into everlasting purposelessness
Fruitlessly trying to fill the hole with nothingness
Constantly producing tears, pitiful moans
Staring out from hopeless eyes
Reaching through dormant hands
Hands that toil for no task
Inhaling despair
Exhaling forsaken dreams
Sleeping through opportunities
Fearing change
Dodging chance
Welcoming failure with pious stupidity
Yearning to be miraculously filled
Yet lazily accepting the bland monotony of mediocrity
Swallowing more empty
Gorging on average
Forgetting to live free
Violette L. Reid 2006

You like adding "ness" to the end of your words, don't you? (purposelessness nothingness) Anywho, I thought your poem was very good. Detailed and written very beautifully. Should I call it amazingness? =]

"Fruitlessly trying to fill the hole with nothingness..." This is my fave line! every line flowed right off the tongue so smooth and easy. This has a wonderful rhythm and the theme is consistant throughout. Nicely done.

Wow, unrelenting. I like this a lot, especially the word "purposelessness"! What an excellent word! My favourite line was ' lazily accepting the bland monotony of mediocrity'. It flows really nicely. I look forward to reading more of your work!

Pretty sad this is. One word i stumbled upon is "purposelessness" but it's probably because it was a mouthful for me to say.

Liked the line: Gorging on average
