untitled

Do you remember when?
No you don't
Or you do, but you don't care

I suppose that's ok
Afterall, that is in the past
And now it's the present
The future's uncertain
The past set in stone

They say the past can teach us
What has it taught me?
I want to forget!
Not the right lesson
My curve has been skewed
Instead of a bell
Circling chaos, a whirl

The time has now come
For my bell to ring true
I must become me
A phoenix, anew

Let go of my past
A firm grasp not held
Don't struggle
Just let
And believe
And I'll get

Erase: negativity
Fear
And depression

Replace: positivity
Hope
And realization

They say it all happens
For this reason
Or that

This
-or-
That?

Tit
-for-
Tat?

Stay
-or-
Scat?

Friend
-or-
Rat?

People change
People grow

Great job. Words and meaning flowed. Funny how the past can invent our future and charge us with so much emotion.

really great write, thanks! you completely caught me in the 4th stanza and kept me the rest of the poem. it was easy to connect to your emotion and relate, it felt personal. Thanks again

very intresting technique, i like how you change the flow in the middle, and yet the meaning seems to stay the same.

Not to sound drippy - or predictable - but, can I say "perfect" I am enamored with this one poem. If you never write a thing again I thank you for writing this. I don't bookmark much - but this - well - I simply get it. Great job!!
