Never to Awake

Never to Awake
-Kali Johns

Sweet cascades of shimmering sunlight
Catch in your golden brown tresses.
Your brilliant blue eyes take me to terrifying heights
While silently your soul confesses
Softly warning me to stand up and fight
As my heart swiftly shatters
And my dreams take flight
Until nothing else matters.

Trembling I reach for the tiny pills
Knowing that this is the coward's way out.
Swiftly I bring the green capsules to my mouth
Then solemnly I lie down
Only to remember all of the wonderful times we shared
Quietly I wept for the love
Now put to sleep
Never to awake again.

Sometimes I can't find words for someone's work, so I'll try my best to say this. I really like it, its a wonderfual peice, but yet quite sad. ^__^ Happy writing.

I hope the insomnia Passes
Would hate to such talent go to waste
