contradiction

inside long cold halls
call to me in my childlike open state
ripe for the kill of your social ills
that echo in and out of the darkness

the contradiction in your lines only hides us from you

they lay threadbare in the sand
all the way to the centre of the town
the sea was gathered into wrinkles like skin
kindly let me rest until this spell is over

the contradiction in your lines only hides us from you

on factory floors you're in a silent rage you're frozen for your sins and keep it in a box under the soul of ancient rind the peel of time and listening to understated conscious mind feel insignificantly dull and pictured out of line with all it doesn't seem to keep you in array the fingers of the spine and pray to nothing nowhere can't you see no entity in outer space it figures less and less in me all out of touch and we've become these poisoned global wretches throwing up our souls on television growing old in all our ways it eats us out as if we're prey the predatory aims of men to gain and lose and fight and win it shows us nothing, makes us no-one, ties us to the wheel of rebirth going round and round and round and round until we're all but done

the contradiction in your lines only hides us from you
