second best

Always with the second place trophy
Its like its been superglued there
I've been on top few times
but always will be second best
i close my eyes and im the winner
when i open them i'm the loser

Everything always goes wrong
when i think about what i've done
I'm not perfect thats why
I'm always second best

You will come to find, if you look closely. Life is usually fourth, or at least most lives are. Even the first place champions (or should I say especially) that strive for that purpose, end up being the biggest loosers, because there lives were devoted not to trying to perfect something, but to being first place. Which is not perfect or the act of, rather, it is merely a hollow shell equivilent, that if you tap hard enough you will brake it and find that that first place apearance is nothing more then a hollow shell of a woman/man. In this imperialistic society we are forever surrounded by this very flaud., masculine thought that we must obtain this award of first place, to prove we are good enough to sit amungst the popular of the ovis aries, never realizing that to really acheive first place, is to find what is great within you. Where you set yourself up for success or failure by your standards, not an outside oppinion which was nothing to begin with. And if you do need that award, just look around you, I always found, that no matter how unfortunate or simple our lives seem, there is always someone wishing they had that first place trophy you have. It doesnt come in the form of something you can touch, it is something you can feel. Not the respect and aknowledgement of others, but yourself.
Find Your Trophy, Winner! Thanks for the Read. -Dan
