Me

Not of or in fashion
Yet still in the action

Not slim nor faced in beauty
But one who honors duty

Not poor but I've been there
So I still know to care

I look for beauty in all things
When I find it my soul sings

Lucky to make my own choice
Still I hear what's in your voice

Not faithless, I will be
The fiercest friend you'll ever see

You can come to me and say
Anything that's in your day

If you ask me to keep true
You can trust that's what I'll do

Sure you can hurt me deep
And in silence I will keep

And hold you in my heart
Even though we grow apart

If I fall I will get up
Without help if I must

Yet in all I try to keep
It is still a giant leap

From my imperfect being
To a life of truth and meaning

I can only be this me
If that's no good then you are free
