Blaze of Glory

Comic book fantasy
Can never express
The highways around me
Outside my door
Sins like oil
On the concrete pour
Feet off the brake
Shift into overdrive
Barrel through barricades
That made us who we are

A blaze of glory
A dying star
A High octane escape
From what we are

Specters calm and gory
They tell a story
Of polluted souls
Inside their cars
Stop and stare
In horror of becoming
Flip them the bird
Take your flight
Make the tires squeal
Cleansing fires ignite

A blaze of glory
A dying star
A High octane escape
From what we are
(RepeatX2)

Deep in shame
I sit exposed
The past is screaming
Heavens are bleeding
Rain in our eyes
Gripping tight the wheel
Spinning headlong
Under traffic-lights
And inhumanity
Life skids to a halt

A blaze of glory
(Sign for them to see)
A blaze of glory
(What we're meant to be)
A blaze of glory
(Dying stars)

I love this! In our age we have so much technology, we start missing the simple things, and our simple values. We are breaking the barriers that forced us to be strong. I don't know if that's what you mean for it to say, but that's what I got. Great imagery, I'm sure you achieved a vivid taste of highway grunge in any reader's mind.

Your style sounds kinda like mine, you should check out my stuff :)

I can feel you. I can relate. I like your choice of words. Very nice.
