Wicked
those colossus
colonnades
close on you like
thick iron bars
a most classic
restriction
erected on
the catacombs
of your kin
cumbersome
blue blood
bulky as
lead manacles
clasps at the
wretched wounds
of birthright
sweet princess
pry open
your portcullis
trespass through
the portico
and escape
this prissy posh
penitentiary
run recklessly
wayward
embraced by my
warm luscious
wilderness
and precious
if you're parched
forage your fill
of my ripe rich fruit
so pray tell
are you at play here
rebellious runaway
in the rampant
jade jungle
or is there
a greater tickle teasing
than the
gold green grass
on those
smooth thin soles
oh your highness
it's the humidity
i digress
still
do divulge
how heavy heaves
the hem of that
drab drenched dress
but really
wouldn't it be best
to bask in the bliss
of blush bare skin
there now
how happy
you appear
allow those breasts
to slide across
this cool
silk stream
and come closer
press my
lush firm form
to your
fine full lips
my my
how wicked
you awake

Some architectural terms
colonnade- a series of columns set at regular intervals and usually supporting the base of a roof structure.
portcullis- a strong grating, as of iron, made to slide along vertical grooves at the sides of a gateway of a fortified place and let down to prevent passage.
portico- colonnade covered ambulatory often at the entrance.

This is refreshingly excellent and unique in both its language and images. Nice use of alliteration, whether accidental or intended- I am a sucker for alliteration, especially when it is so smooth and unassuming.
You should send me a tape of you reading this. I am really interested in hearing poets read their work, lately. |

| Right, okay, I feel a little out of place here. I will not be the first to say that this is really good writing, however I will admit that I'm a little lost. That purely because I sometimes fail to focus when bombarded with such a multitude of great and thought provoking imagery. I've read this poem a couple times now and still struggle a little. Let me digest and mill over it some more and then see what happens. A sign of true poetry when it leaves the reader breathless... |

That's better :)
And now, I can honestly say that I love:
"allow those breasts
to slide across
this cool
silk stream
and come closer
press my
lush firm form
to your
fine full lips"
It's very sexy :)
And yes, I can smell the oils in all your poetry. It's very vivid. It's nice that you can bring out your passion for painting with your words - everything's so colourful, all the way through!
Great stuff :) |
