When I Die
I trust the flickering candle light,
That siren of the cold dark night.
I circle with all my might
So careless of my plight.
Seduced by its sight,
I end my flight
With no fight,
And go out
In a blaze of glory.

| It is very good to write for the candle, for it has higher spirit, lighting others by burning itself. I appreciate the poem. You write the candle alive! |

Love it!

Keep that attitude, Dennis. Going down in flames is better than fading away (to borrow from some music lyrics).
Love the lines:
"I end my flight
With no fight" |

I like. You are an entertaining man.
But the 'blaze' of the 'glory' ... I have to admit to being iggernit of exactly where the blaze IS. The glory, well, we can hardly avoid it. |

| I like the structure as well. Funny, I wrote a similar poem just a few days ago. But writing short poems is not my forte' |
