Note to the Aristocracy

I dragged this country from a spiraling rut
Bringing it into dominion with my own blood and guts
You sat on your aristocratic ass and wrote pretty deeds
While I toiled till my hands would bleed.

And I took this thankless job
Believed in your promises
Gave my life and my children's in hope of this,
this, dream
this lie
this great fallacy you told
But you never once felt sorry or mournful for the lives you stole.

Yet keep drinking your milk and honey I want you to
Because all us
poor
broken
Forgotten Americans will have our share too.

And if overturning the crooked politicians is what we have to do then trust
We're more than willing to do so
Cause we don't need them
they need us.
