Unmarked Scar

It is like the unmarked scar
you draw onto the body
of the one you love most.

It bleeds just the same
yet we all know,
like the genesis wound,
it never really bleeds.

File it under Dramatic Illusions.
The fruits of which can
only be tasted by those in need
of what they are drawn to taste.

Otherwise the relevance is lost.
Energy discharged,
Interest never found.

But not this one,
it is a blood soaked note to my past
pressed into the flesh of the future
keeping me from the present.

Effected and vested in the
little world of wounds.

A world without eternity.
I pray no one can lie in the
presence of light for that long.

Flesh is only flesh,
a knee would have to buckle at some point,
though it may take a lifetime or two.

Thank you both. It is an image from a more graphic poem that was to obvious. Drawing the scar on the body of the one you love. Is the line that is in both poems,

Thanks again, changes to come.

I will have to agree with solaris about the part...

But not this one,
it is a blood soaked note to my past
pressed into the flesh of the future
keeping me from the present.

This really spoke...thanks

ok, this i had to read slow, enunciate each word deliberately. it has a softness to its voice - requiring a listening to, a re-read, a mulling over and a recognition of truths.

clever word plays that while maybe not entirely subtle, are quiet enough not to hit you over the head with a hammer. effective use of sounds work to build cohesion and carry emotions forward on their wavelengths.

favourite part of a whole piece i had to bookcase was this:

it is a blood soaked note to my past
pressed into the flesh of the future
keeping me from the present.

Effected and vested in the
little world of wounds.
