To Be a Father

To Be a Father

The mystery of life revolves around the fatherly position. The life you sustain and live holds great accomplishments yet without the furthering of your name, what gains in this life are significant? You are born different, with certain responsibilities that those opposite of you will never understand. When your mother birthed you into this world, you were pronounced 'IT'S A BOY', with a slap on your backside, and a careful stare at the object that made you what you were, your life was and will forever be set apart with a purpose that only God made you to fulfill. You love your mother unconditionally, yet you respect your father immensely. You embark on the training necessary for the countless brow-sweated days of enduring work and anguish. What are you to be? A man that is strong and confident, a man that is a leader and not a follower, and a man that is masculine and structured. You work hard daily in careful thought about the future, and you desire a comfortable life with a wife and family. You look for a wife worthy of your name and seed. You understand that your role in this world is to guide and protect, and to provide the manliness to make other sons become men such as you, and to make daughters into rightful ladies. In first hearing of the unborn child, your heart is filled with an unwavering joy that never subsides. The days, hours, minutes, and seconds pass in the awaiting of the seed you will call your own, and the life that will carry on your legacy and name is finally here. Within your household, you are KING, and mother is QUEEN, and your offspring are PRINCES and PRINCESSES. In your home you uphold the head being CHRIST, then you, and so on. You do this because; you recognize that no house will stand unless Christ builds it. You demand obedience and reverence as King from all members in the home, and the right is yours as you are husband and father. To your wife, your friend and lover, you keep her close, for she is your friend and confidant in those times of lowliness and uncertainty. She offers you encouragement and advice that keeps you strong and steady for the tiring walks along the paths. Your offspring, you see hope and greatness within them. They call you daddy and your heart melts with gratitude for their existence. As the years pass, you see your son become a man, and your daughter becomes a woman. Your son, you expect him to surpass the things you have accomplished. He is to continue on your legacy and name. He is to carry on the torch of your existence, the existence of your fathers, and father's father. Your hopes for him are high and esteemed, and you are anxious to see him become a God-fearing man that is patient, strong, and a leader. You desire that your son no longer make the mistakes you made, but instead go beyond the limits you tested, and be better than you were. The attributes you bestowed upon him, your desire is for them to be passed down on your grandchildren, and great grand. The foundation was made with you, and through your son, the foundation will be sustained. Your daughter, you see her as a precious gem that needs protecting and governing. You want her to be similar to her mother, but you aspire her to have her own individuality. Gentle and soft-spoken is she, yet strong and ambitious you strive her to be. A life so full of hope and promise, she too will continue on your legacy and bring joys to your heart continually. The mystery of fatherhood is one that can never be explained. You hold your position in high authority, yet you understand your actions dictate and affect the lives around you. Your goals in life are to serve God wholeheartedly, to marry and sow an heir worthy of your name, and to live a life you can look back on and be proud of. So today in honor of Fathers Day, take a bow, and shed a tear, because your life has meaning,
and you truly unfolded the mystery of what it means to be just that, A FATHER!
