The Long Weekend

Here I am on the Queens Birthday long weekend.
Why do we celebrate this long weekend. I do not think about being a colony however I think having the day off is a waste of time except for my sanity.

It has been nice to be forced to have some time out. My work place which is normally 24/7 is actually closed today which means I cannot pop in to do any catch up work. This is generally the only time I force myself to relax.

I woke up at 10:30am and after breakfast went for a walk with my husband and son to the City Art Gallery. The air was crisp and fresh and I feel we all benefitted from this as yesterday was a dreary day with the heaters on from morning until night.

We have had some friends pop in for a coffee and I am now lazing on my coach with my animals watching The Two Towers. It is still always the simple little things that make me so happy.

haha you hit the nail on the head, long weekends are for our sanity, and to actually get some time away from work to spend time with the people who matter in our lives, lest they become strangers.
Great to hear you find happiness from the little things, it means you have the potential to make every day a great one :)
