Soul Mate

I was you and you were I.

A mirror image of each other.

You were daring and spontaneous.

I was willing.

Together, the world was gone.

No time to think of anything else.

Living in that moment, with only each other, to think about.

I now remember every detail, every conversation shared.

Each word meant something, even when words were not spoken.

In my life there has been no one else, that has let me be myself.

I have been me, in every part of me.

And when I remember me, it's you, I think about.

Beyond sexual, and perhaps even friendship,

A reflection of each other.

A bond that is undefined like nothing else.

A friend for life, that time and distance, can't fade out.

Thank you Thunderpen. This is one of those poems I have written that is very near and dear to my heart and I hope that it comes across as such, when a reader reads it.
Sincere thanks, for your kind words.

Thank you Carriedale, I hope it does bring a poem, of your first love, to paper.
When something I have written inspires someone else whether in write or something else, I feel that is the biggest complement I can receive.

ah, youthful love. This is what you rpoem reminded me of: the love of the young a first true, REAL, all-consuming love. Nothing to edit or change. Good piece, thanks for sharing. I will think of my first love all day today and perhaps even be inspired to write something.
