Tough (though tiny) Calls

How is it that the smallest decisions in life are often the hardest to make? Should I wear the red shirt today? You think he's cute? Chocolate or vanilla?

I suppose that on one hand, life makes so many of the big decisions for us. Oh shit, it can't be blue'¦ please don't let the stick be blue. You're firing me? But I thought we really had something, babe, where is this coming from?

On the other hand, maybe we simply have too many options. Maybe we're just a bunch of overgrown kids in the proverbial candy store who won't even like our own caskets in the end because we'll inevitably leave the decision ' pewter or classic black? ' to our grieving spouses, gay sons, and spinster sisters. Maybe we'll even let them draw straws for the privilege (or burden) because, hell, we can't decide our own fate, much less theirs.

Yeah, enjoyable write from you, Kate, smooth and sassy (Could I just point out that I don't normally say "sassy", so I'm obviously still not quite right). Life is full of hard decisions and tough calls which are pivotal (I sometimes use "pivotal" though) points in our life's progress. Did I mention that this was enjoyable? I think I did but that was some time ago. Candy store caskets now there's a thought to dwell upon. cheers for the read, Kate - most enjoyable - Grae. PS sorry, bit strange still.

Ah - now I don't think (cancel that - I have never) seen a creative non fiction Wee Story - and I'm surprised, and pleased, to say, I really liked it.

As has been said, you have an easy style to read, to identify with. Yeah - loved this, actually (hated that movie).

Thanks for taking part in the challenge - sorry for taking so long to read and comment - hope you'll try out the next challnege (coming soon).

Cheers

Karen

Ditto the comment below. I like your chatty, conversational style - you can turn the simplest of observations into an amusing read.
Cheers XX

I always enjoy the way you just go...pick a simple topic or every day happening and go.
A buddy of mine used to comment how we can be so adamant over something as powerful as a presidential candidate, will not budge, fact's be damned, he's a Democrat and that's the choice!
But we'll stare at the McDonalds menu for twenty minutes completely torn at what we want, weighing every option...and the menu hasn't changed in 50 years!
But I like how you say life makes the biggest choices for us...from our parents to the day we die.
You're fun. Period. Just plain fun.
