haunted

you are etched into me
sitting like a scar that i
drag my fingers across
enjoying the ridges and
swollen skin
happily cataloging the way
my skin ripped apart
and came together again.
you lie in a place only i can reference
a scar that i proudly wear
too deep to share
too bittersweet to mention
and i remember
where it was you
took me from
and where it was
you left me.

I really like this one. You have an intelligent and unpretensious way of expressing emotions in a fresh style.

Man, I have been there... still am there, i guess. The scar has smoothed a bit, but I remember the cut that created it. Well worded.
