INFIDELITY

What is it that you see
When you look at me?
My eyes are filled with love...
Yet my beauty seems disfigured by
Your guilt.
My voice holds only understanding...
Yet my words seem twisted by
Your Shame.
My heart is in pieces around me...
Yet, you see nothing.
Your betrayal renders you
Empty,
Deaf to the tears of my spirit...
Oblivious to the pain
In my soul.
Thrown away and forgotten,
The one who loved you...
Most of all.

Very heartfelt. You put into words that some can't when their heart is broken like this.

This is a lovely piece, Yvonne. All the emotions of betrayal captured so well. I am impressed.

This was so wonderfully written. You captured perfectly how the guilt of the one who betrayed gets in the way of forgiveness. You are so very talented!
