hesitation
Here I stand, with gun in hand ready to aim and kill.
When all at once the air around is silent, cold and still.
I see my prey, he pleads with me, let me live today.
And in a flash of brilliant light my life fades away.
I don't know how this happened, yet or even quite how, but with my final dying breaths I make a solemn vow.
To live a better life next time though I know not how.
As he looks down upon my lifeless body now.
