Depths of a Depressed Mind

The screams
So loud
That no one
Can really hear
The room
So quiet
I can barely think
My mind
Stuck
On this station
Of unwavering desperation
My smile
Just a pleasing way
To cover up
The pain
The fear
Of knowing
I'm going nowhere
Trapped
In this darkness
Unable
To find the light
Searching
For the simplicity
To overpower
This complexity
That engulfs me
Dreaded unhappiness
That seems to
Fill my days
The time
It takes away
Is unnerving
As everyone else
Seems to move on
Day after day
And I continue
Being stuck
In this
Decaying moment
Mistakenly
Depression
Has somehow
Gotten in my way
And I'm
Screaming out
Not nearly
Loud enough
Just praying
It all goes away

I can relate to your piece. Depression is like a giant stone tied to your neck while you tread in deep water. Nice work.
