STEADFAST
when your scent fades
like ember
from my mind
and your voice
no longer echoes
in the hallways
of my heart
when your warmth
is blown
from my skin
like leaves in autumn
and your beauty greys
from the filaments
of my vision
when your laughter
ceases to chime
and memories of you
in ritual suicide
hopeless,
deperate,
powerless,
erodes in the ebb of time
close your eyes
not in slumber
but in knowledge
not just to remember
i love you
like Excalibur embedded
beyond my mortality
my love will brave
no, stand before
the tempest of
my bitter destiny
unshakend
my love remains
even when thistles
on my grave
they grow
and death
in its finality
decays my marrow
my love for you was
and my love for you
shall ever be
