The Devils Child-Something's Not Right!
The Devils Child-Something's Not Right
Part Three
Damian couldn't help but think how the night wasn't getting any better, only worse.
Of course it didn't help that it only seemed to be colder, darker and the night sky hadn't stopped it's raining in fact the rain even seem to be falling harder as the night went on.
Damian slowed the car down as he pulled up in front of a white picket fence that surrounded the small wooden cabin. Damian tried to peer out the passenger side window but it did no good, he couldn't see through all the raindrops splattered across the window.
"Great. I hope someone is home."
He muttered as he tightened his black raincoat and proceeded to exit from his car.
He slammed his car door shut and walked up to the white picket fence and called out trying not to startle anyone who inhabited the small cabin.
He remained silent for a few moments and yet no one stepped out onto to the old porch to greet him.
Damian muttered a few curse words as he reached down and unlatched the small gate and cautiously stepped onto the small cobblestone path and slowly made his way towards the front porch.
Damian's head dodges from side to side and behind him hoping he would see another person.
He finally found himself standing at the bottom of the porch steps, he took one last look around, still seeing no other human being he made his way up the steps.
He took a few steps towards the door and went to knock when Damian heard a familiar clicking sound from the movies. He closed his eyes and his breathing grew shallow, he could feel a tremble throughout his body followed by a cold sweat.
"Alright. You just stop right there and put your arms above your head you hear? You just stay right where you are!" A womans voice boomed.
Damian threw his hands so far above his head it was as if he were reaching for the moon.
"Now relax and tell me what you want and don't try anything stupid now, I'll shoot you if I have to!" Her voice boomed once more.
Damian slowly opened his mouth to say someting, but instead he felt a sharp pain shoot into his gut and grow within his stomach. He inhaled deeply to calm his nerves but instead was horrified when a loud and rather disgusting noise of flatulence broke the silence. Damian could feel his face grow red with embarrassment.
"Now that's just plain gross! I told to relax but not that much!" The angry woman's voice growled with disgust.
Damian opened his mouth to say something but stopped. He wasn't sure what to say but, "I. I am sorry. I just get gassy when I am under a lot of stress. That's all!" He clenched his eye's shut with shame at what he had just said.
The woman let out a snort, "Hell, you show stress by farting? Son! I've scared the shit, piss out of people, but I've never scared the farts out of anyone!" The woman blurted out as she took a few steps towards Damian before slapping him on the back.
"Hell son! That's the best laugh I've had in a LONG time!" The woman blurted out before letting out a loud laugh.
Damian lowered his arms and turned around to face the laughing woman. He could only let out a chuckle that was filled with annoyance and embarrassment. He took a few moments to study the woman who only moments early had him at gunpoint.
He was a bit surprised to see a woman in her 50's whom was shorter than him; she had brown hair with streaks of gray in it pulled back in a ponytail. He also noticed how her rather "puffy" belly jiggled around like Jell-O as she laughed. She had child like look to her face despite her alarming and deep voice.
"Well son don't be so rude and stare! Tell me what you're doing wandering around my property at this time of the night?" She asked suddenly and with a rather stern voice, yet a twinkle of curiosity in her blue eyes.
Damian snapped to attention "Well, I was looking for a friends house up the highway and I well, I found this, this woman! I think someone is after her and she's hurt real bad." Damian said without even taking a breathe of air.
The woman stood there staring intensely at him as if she didn't believe him. David felt his body squirm with discomfort at the way she was looking at him.
Damian took a deep breath and opened his mouth but was cut off by the woman.
"Hell son! Why didn't you say so in the first place?" She said abruptly as she turned and walked off her porch and down the cobble stone path.
Damian's face had a puzzled look on it, he wasn't too sure what to make of this woman.
"Well, you might as know'¦ I am Judy. What's yours?" She yelled as she marched forward without even turning around to glance at Damian.
"Damian! I am Damian Karloff!" Damian yelled out to her as he leaped off the porch and bounded down the pathway after Judy.
The two approached the car when Damian suddenly reached out & grabbled Judy's arm.
"WAIT!" Damian squeaked.
Judy looked at him with a displeased glare at his action.
"This woman. She's crazy!" Damian whispered.
Judy leaned in close to Damian with a sparkle in her eye and a smile, "Aren't all woman a little crazy?"
Judy said sarcastically. Damian let go of Judy's arm and let out an annoyed sigh at Judy's sarcasm.
"You're serious aren't you?" Judy said as she looked at the worried man.
"Well don't you worry boy! I have my friend right here!" She said with a confidant smile as her hand patted her riffle.
"Um. Yeah. I've already met your friend."
Damian responded as he scratched the back of his head and pointed at her riffle.
The two shared a moment of silent chuckles.
"Well Damian! Shall we go and check this fruitcake out?"
Judy said as she pointed at her gun.
Damian just nodded his head in agreement. The two made their way over to the rear car door.
Damian leaned forward and grabbed the car handle; he froze as he nervously glanced at Judy who had her trusted rifle aimed and ready to shoot at any hostile movement.
Damian then without any warning flung the door open so quickly that it sent the raindrops flying throughout the air and splashing onto the ground.
Damian held his arms out expecting the woman to fly out from the back seat clawing and screaming.
Instead, the cold, dark night air remained silent, all that could be heard were the raindrops falling onto the earth.
Damian and Judy stood there staring into the empty backseat with concern and horror; the woman's body had vanished!
The two adults stood frozen in place. Damian opened his mouth to say something but was cut off by a blood-curdling scream. It sent chills running down his spin. Judy's eyes widened when she heard the scream followed by the sound of glass breaking and other objects breaking as they were thrown around.
"Shit and Molasses! Something isn't right here! What's going on?"
Judy yelled as she marched off to her chaotic cabin.
Damian just shook his head after he ran after Judy, all he could think to himself was "Here we go again!"
