Lost Sailors' Grave
Dream or reality or a combination of both.
A night alone on the ocean beach
Staring out across the waves
Warm sand beneath my bare feet
Toes touching the lost sailors' grave.
I close my eyes and let my mind drift
Breathing in the salty air
Dense sea fog blankets me with its' warmth
My heart can feel his despair
Whispers roll in from the oceans' depth
Begging for someone to hear
Calling out from his cold wet grave
About loneliness and fear
Warm salt water now licking my feet
A deep chill goes through my spine
The lost sailor whispers from his grave
His spirit calling to mine.
A night isolated on the ocean beach
Staring out across the waves
Wrapped in a warm thick sea fog
Wading into the lost sailors' grave.
Tugging and pulling, touching my heart
From his watery grave he cries
Beckoning me to join him
Warm water gently lapping my thighs.
At night in the desolate ocean
With whispers surfing the waves
While salt water burns my lips,
He calls from his watery grave.
A few more steps and I will be there,
My head sinks beneath the wave
Salt water burns in my lungs
As I enter the lost sailors' grave
I wake up from a sound night of sleep
Wet sand still clings to my skin
Smells of the sea fill the room
I hear the lost sailors' voice in the wind.
