make perfect

this moment sank without a word
further
down
she dove
down
drown
thrown sea side from the train
maimed into thinking she was worth more
scoring only filth from rich old men
she fought to go down
she needed to fall down
frowning up towards the city lights
forgetting how it is she used to see
be
hide us in your folded arms
protecting us, as we should be protecting you
protect-
ed
from the likes of those who have bothered to show
-up
grown-up beside your only known alibi
grown-down beside your only friend
mending your own life is hard enough without the world
curled up over there
watching
approaching
she's sorry for all the trouble
she just wanted
a little
prac
-tise when it comes to forgetting
