Awakening

Light filters through darkness
Dawn awakens from sleep
Passion hidden inside
Cloaked in fear of knowledge
Stirs with a flutter

Eyes close to shut out the light
Bringing back darkness
A protective blanket
To still the heart

I really like the simplicity of this poem. Don't we all know the feeling? I particularly like "passion...cloaked in a fear of knowledge." Keep writing.
