Bees

I probably should have
Known from the time
I was small and
Played with the bees
As they came to drink
From the birdbath
Touching them lightly with
My pale tender fingers as
They crawled on the stone
That my Grandmother (who
Threw rocks at stray cats
But worried that stinging
Insects would drown)
Had placed in the middle
That I don't have good
Sense when it comes
To picking playmates

I think making it easy is the last thing sonnet wants. But what d o I know?
Well, I know this is a bloody good piece.
Cracking good read.

The line about the Grandmother is so true.

hehehe.....clever, with a subdued sharpness to your wit....just one thing: I might take out "pale" from "pale tender fingers", just to make it easier to read.
well done, though.
