maybe if i close my eyes
all the hurt will disappear
close myself off from the world
run from all lifes fear

maybe if i shut my ears
suffering will walk away
i won't even here her coming
as i wander through the pain

maybe if i turn around
walk from the battlefield
my heart won't endure this torment
ignorance acting as my shield

maybe if i accept the fate
love can kill a man
i'll be stronger in the knowledge
i know not where i stand
