The Tulip

As I set out along my way
I found myself thinking of you today

I prayed to God for a sign that you near
His ears I know they did finally hear

Amongst the weeds and garbage
The most beautiful sight I did behold
A single red tulip with its pedals beginning to
Unfold

I thought to myself how can this be
That such a beauty of nature grows in such
Adversity

Than I started to realize that this was a sign
That even though we are apart your heart
Will always be connected to mine

Suddenly I started to feel a sense of love and peace inside
At that moment I did realize something pure and true

No matter where I may go and what path I tread You will always be with me I have no need to dread

God called you home to complete his plan
The reason or logic is not meant for me to
Understand

I know I have to let you go
Set your spirit loose and free
Your memory I will keep alive

You will always be with me.
