Empty Arms -In Memory of Hope Kydd May 15, 2007

Only knew you for such a short awhile
Had already envisioned your precious little smile
Images of little fingers and hand reaching for mine
So real to me I could feel it somehow
Dreams of holding you in my arms every day
Your presence was so strong in my dreams
Your room picked out and the colours too
A special and loving space just for you
Family and friends who were anxious to meet you
Sadly all this is lost to us now
Our Gift of God was taken back somehow
Your presence was needed by his side
Never will I see your precious little face
In your absence, all that is left is an empty space
Empty arms that will never be able to hold you
Although I still hold that image close to my heart
Broken is my heart without you in my life
Your hand will never hold mine now or reach for me
Although I find myself grasping for yours in my dreams
These losses I question repeatedly
No one can understand - there is no answer for me
