the falling
in a city of angels
an angel fell
past acres, miles, of steel and glass
into oblivion of grace,
life's fleet details a
blurring of his vision;
surrender of his senses;
immortal anguish in his heart
a flame he wished
extinguished.

| Interesting because I've considered the phenomenon of angels experiencing mortality. Would they even like it? Would they tear at their skin like it was a diseased insect crawling all over them? Intense I know, but it's something to consider if you are artistic and have too much free time to think... |

Jan,
A couple of things for your consideration.
in a city of angels
(one) fell
past acres, miles, of steel and glass
into oblivion of grace,
life's fleet details a
blurring of ^ vision;
(a)surrender of ^ senses;
immortal anguish in his heart
a flame he wished
extinguished
Your poem, not mine (darn) so I only offer a little different way, but I do like this, alot.

a flame he wished
extinguished.....
like having the candles of your birthday cake blown out before you could raise your breath.... This is how I interpret this one Jan |

sigh. maybe my angel is not the same as your angel, maybe he is. maybe he is just a human, a son of los angeles, committing suicide from a broken heart, or maybe he is an angel trying to commit suicide because the pain of loving humans is too much for him to bear.
thankyou, RJ x |

So it is when angels fall. Their vision does blur, becoming irrational in their senses, from loss of mortality.
Love the biblical inplications in this piece Jan. |
