You've been saved

you have been
around since the dawn of time
savored in mans hearts and minds

promises of dreams come true
promises of freedom thru you
promises to the chosen few

7days~from the artist crafted hand
7days~was born the son~man

but forever would soon be taken away
because of our insolence we are left here to lay
centuries later we continue to pay
waiting for the comingof a new day

let me ask you
how can man be saved~
when your best laid plans
have gone a stray?

I look around
at the divine order
of today and
I see..
preachers who do not pray
pulpits congregational whores
look'n to score with the chosen one
judgments made
while we are out have'n fun
twist'n it up til Sunday come
than its back to Brother and Sister
Bless everyone
how can we play
this hypocritic game six days~all in his name

I see
man enslaved by machine
a digital world~a constant thing
it's the never ending
search for the bling
sssh listen to the cashier's ring
I mean that's $895
I need it to get by
or raise high in the friendly skies
Ill re-mortgage the house
and with no doubt
the college fund is out~ a zero balance
for a no talent son
one that's always on the run

now he's got a gun~he's a man
he wont play his daddy's poor hand
thats his burden to bare
~buyer beware~
you got one comin up behind you
you left your office around 3
now your busted
cause your wife cant find you
your not where your suppose to be
goin down on one knee enjoy'n
another women at her
all you can eat adultery buffet
this is your time
and they wont take it away

you pray
that you don't get caught
fly'n home with that thought
almost there~its up ahead
you walk in
and the childrens not fed
mothers strung out in the bed
your a zombie~the walkin dead
there's fried chicken
on the bar~a countries dream
loveless marriage with a
side of beans

take as much as your please
cause you know~ its fat free
look theres not an ounce
of fat on your daughter 5'10 frame
she no dumby~she got her
way into the game
at 109(lbs) she's got
her ticket to ride and she
don't mind if she someones
ho on the side
along as she's gettin by
gettin by gettin by
in this fucking genocide
where hope can not hide
in the "by and by"
that's an old song that
no longer applies

we look to heaven
and ask "WHY?"
when are we gonna decide
that we have what we need inside
organized religion
is the controlling mans vision
a spiritual plight is what feels right
stop fighting and wanting more

it's a proverbal 40 days and 40 nights
in the wilderness of our lives
we have to try and escape
the repression of our demise
and that of our brother

love one another
as they were our own
show him the way
of the world~ its home
be IN IT~NOT OF IT
my ganny'd always say
to pay the price that we must pay
but have faith in a better day, hour or minute
get with the being free
finding in our heart a better way to be

Do not yearn for Me~Heavens on earth
look around and you'll see
a time of rebirth
a time of spiritual elevation
a time of Gods heart manifestation
a time where we stop forsaking
all others to help ourselves
a time where we bring Gods love
out of this hell

break free of the jail cell
that is our mind~realize
that we ARE divine
Can man be saved?
YES
if the road is paved
with hard work and love
the answer from
God Almighy above.

peace.

I def. dig your style and your message. This work sounds like a great spoken word piece...so I disagree that it should be broken up. Sometimes it's just about the flow.

Keep doing you.

I agree there is a lot being said here. Perhaps it would be better as two seperate poems. The first five stanzas have a flow and rhyming pattern, then falls into free verse. Then back to a rhyming pattern at the end. Every time I got the flow, it changed.

Wow Michelle lots goin' on here. Starts off as jab at organized religion and climaxes with the moral of work setting u free. Might be enuf grist here for 2-3 poems.
