bask in dingy afterglow
of bloody misuse and aloe sweat
entitled to a distant muse
a brief encounter never meant
and swallow angry, with disdain
resistance to a second wind
never asked for, nor desired
in muted greens and jaded tinge
and slight away the imperfections
in a newly fired glaze
take on a new terrain of thought
yet stay enveloped in the haze
avoid the things that have been taught
and second guess this suffering
in lieu of wearing old attire
try on new spectred tailorings
