saltwater

as if sense were needed
there is no difference to be made
a voice too late
a moment left away
washing out to tide
these lungs are full
too full to shout
to a sailing heart

you have a real mastery over the short poem. I love this. I didn't read it as someone lost to the sea, but of a love lost...

I've read and re-read this one and it conjours a picture of someone lost and drowning in the sea. Perhaps a wave claimed them on Marine Drive and the undertow hauled them away. Saw that happen once.
