leave me here

The only one who understood

The only one who ever could

I fall asleep and dream of you

if only sometimes dreams came true

but life is hard and getting worse

we held hands to spite the curse

that day when life was stripped away

and suffering washed in to stay

a pain like this is hard to bare

and even harder still to share

how safe I felt inside your arms

sheltered from that hard life's harms

you watched me as my blood ran cold

My heavy heart to much to hold

you left me here, my eyes gone blind

to hopeful thoughts or peaceful mind

how dare you judge this road I walk

the hampered smile that you mock

I stand here, angry, yelling out

I pick apart the life you tout

You think your strong enough to scream?

to turn your back on everything?

to see the world in an honest light?

And understand the other's plight?

then go ahead and make your case

watch your lies become erased

and maybe then you'll finally see

how little that you meant to me
