Sleep soft

Sleep with a smile on your face; I'm here.
Sleep soft with your head upon my chest; I'll keep you near.
Our breathing synchronises; we are one.
Whenever you are here I am someone.

Curled up in that shirt I used to wear,
I sigh and run my fingers through your hair.
It never looked that good on me; you're the sweetest thing there'll ever be; I swear.

The moon it casts a shadow on the wall,
I lie and watch your chest just rise and fall.
In your silence you can speak a thousand words,
So I listen till you're silenced by the birds.
