Antique Clock

<I>A stopped clock tells the right time twice a day - and is useless except to itself.</I>

Kurt adjusted his eyepiece and leaned forward, almost touching the tiny cogs spread in front of him with his nose, his breathing shallow.

<I>"Kurt. I'm leaving now, Kurt. Damn you - look up from your infernal clocks and say something...anything..."</I>

<I>"Goodbye, Wilma."</I>

The slamming door echoed through the dusty years.

<I>Does he fix your clocks when you scream and break them, Wilma? Or does he simply buy new ones?</I>

Kurt removed his eyepiece and wiped his tears, then returned to fixing his broken antique clock.

An emotional piece. I can feel the hurt in both parties words. Great response to the wee challenge.

This is wonderful as always, very poignant and tells a much longer story than the length of the text suggests. I loved this line:

The slamming door echoed through the dusty years
