the black ewe

they always said
she'd come
to a bad end

they're dead

she sits
in a rocker
counting
her evils
knits a shawl
from days

grinning
she sniffs
the perfumes
in old lusts
passions
skin to skin
fierce grip
of thighs

drinks herself
from laughter
into dreams
sunsets
where crimson
of dead clouds
sits
over islands
drifting into haze

she rows a river
flowing sweet
rocks to music
scored
by the lord
of years

Thanks, David. I tend to let the mood and feel of a poem choose the form and style. So some get like this, and others are written in more conventional style. I like to read all my poems aloud, and it is often rhythm and pace that will dictate the form, as well as mood.

Very good! I have read several of your poem, which delights me a lot. They are short and meaningful. And would you please tell me how you come to this style? Looking forward to hearing from you. Best wishes.

white economy, you make Eastern thought proud with your deliberate short strokes. you do have a firm, yet gentle grasp upon the feminine being.
