A Blown out Candle
Self-Sacrificing and compassionate
A warm ray of sunshine in life
The happiest reason to start the day
A candle that filled the room
With a scent that everyone loves
And a comforting glow as he entered
The candle has been snuffed out
Only the smell of decay remains
Driving so fast to escape his demons
Glass shattering, life flashing
Instantaneous death
Or so the reports said
He lives in us
He breathes in us
And he still holds me when I cry
I feel his arms around me now

| This one tugged at my heart strings and it was hard not to cry. Such a tender and beautiful way to handle the subject matter. You packed a tremenous amount of emotion in a few short lines. Excellent. |

| Very delicately handled. Cryptic. Graceful but poignant nonetheless. This came right from the heart. |
