Dickenson, Wordsworth, and Doyle
Dickenson, Wordsworth, and more
Created beauty rival of Michelangelo.
Using words to describe beauty,
While others paint and stencil with creativity.
What of song and lyric
With beauty when you hear it?
It uses music to describe feeling.
Without melody, most would need healing.
Melody and rhythm
Can describe beauty as divine.
While paintings and art
Show beauty from the start.
So where does poetry lie?
When some hear it they start to cry,
'Why must we hear something of toil?
Please no more Wordsworth or Doyle!'
For poetry lies in song and melody,
But also shines through artistic memory.
Take the words of a song,
In that lies the poetic side.
Take a picture with none so wrong,
And poetry cannot hide.
