Liaisons bloom as you triangulate
caring not for whom you strangulate.
Stoically lip-serving the Old Man of Hoy
whilst brow-beating masses to cooperate.

Irony abounds in leaps of joy
promises found in the eyes of a boy.
Would he be kept in gilded cage
or swept to sea in ill-fated convoy.

History demands the turn of a page
destiny awaits in silent rage.
For Skefing set sail to craggy Orkney
as hearty a king known of the age.

Fortunes turned as Sirens did see
ship-wrecked survivor seed dynasty.
Fair-haired ruler planted tree
Stony ring for dowry.
